About Us

Recovery Acres 201Recovery Acres registered as a Society in 1973 with three specific goals:

  1. Develop alternatives in clients’ behaviours and attitudes toward alcohol and drugs.
  2. Promote community and employment, which allows a graceful transition back to regular life.
  3. Network with other community resources to help the resident thrive upon graduation.

Recovery Acres is an opportunity for men to change their lives, after suffering the consequences of an undesirable lifestyle. It starts by developing awareness over addiction, relationships, and life skills. This happens by engaging in treatment, work skills, recreation and healthy interpersonal relationships. The goal is to help men discover their purpose.

We work with graduates by connecting them with community resources that support long term recovery, including transitional housing. Each person gets time to heal, move out of a failed lifestyle and begin to feel like a valuable member of society. Medical and dental assistance, financial support, and transportation are critical for starting a new life. Family and employment are both important in recovery, so we encourage understanding, acceptance and supportiveness.
